BCN has expanded its work in commercial development, completing several renovations of historic Clarendon buildings for locally owned restaurants. Click on the links below to view our projects.
BCN completed the build of the historic Masonic Lodge building at 3195 Wilson Boulevard in 2007. Built in the early 1900s, this building is a landmark in Clarendon and has now been transformed into The Liberty Tavern a popular neighborhood restaurant and bar.
BCN Design/Build is the developer and builder of Northside Social coffee and wine bar. Similar to The Liberty Tavern build, this is an extensive renovation of a historic Arlington property - in this case the original Clarendon Citizen's Hall built in 1915 - which functioned as a prominent Arlington gathering place for nearly 90 years. Over the last decade, the building has housed two popular coffee shops and Northside Social is proud to continue this tradition.

03/27/2010 - BCN Design/Build owner Brian Normile has again collaborated with Stephen Fedorchak, his partner from The Liberty Tavern, to design a business that maintains the old-fashioned charm of this landmark house in the heart of Clarendon. Guests can look forward to expanded seating on both floors and a completely renovated interior that maintains its historic vibe. Northside Social looks forward to opening early spring 2010. Check back often for more updates and construction photos.
BCN Design/Build is developing the Lyon Hall restaurant, slated to open in early spring 2010. The Liberty Tavern partners purchased the building together and have collaborated in redeveloping another historic North Arlington property - a 1946 Streamline Moderne building developed by noted Arlington builder/developer Frank Lyon. The original two story building is faced with limestone and terazzo, has a flat roof, and its most prevalent feature is the rotunda entry. The location originally housed Scheffs Appliance Store, and went on to become the home of the well known Dan Kain Trophies, Inc., a popular local business for generations. BCN expects this project to be complete and the restaurant open for business by mid-April 2010. Check back for updates and more photos!
03/27/2010 - This project is well underway and the interior decor of Lyon Hall will combine the classic brasserie design elements of subway tiles, herringbone pattern flooring, and an 18-seat honed Carrera marble bar with industrial materials including diamond plate wall treatments. Because of its historic significance in Arlington, the exterior of Lyon Hall will remain almost the same as it looks today with updated awnings and new signage in front. BCN Design/Build expects this restaurant to be complete in late March 2010. Check back often for updates and photos!
