Little Moments
BCN worked for quite a while with these clients to find the perfect location that made sense for them to move, ensuring the location and future house would complement both their needs and lifestyle. An exercise in patience resulted in a fabulous residence at 3560 N. Abingdon Street– Completed in 2024, this home truly captured their vision of something timeless, unassuming, and beautifully crafted.
The unique lot shape presented an interesting challenge for the architecture team, since it was wide at the front and narrowed significantly toward the back. BCN capitalized on this by designing a house with a combination of side entry and front entry garages, perfectly accommodating the need for a 3-car garage. The result is a harmonious balance between functional design and aesthetic appeal.
The all-brick exterior is complemented by charming brick lead walks and porches, creating a classic and welcoming facade. A lovely screened porch and a private primary sitting room terrace overlook the backyard, offering a peaceful retreat. The side entry was thoughtfully designed with the client’s dogs in mind, providing easy access to the outdoors.

Inside the home, there are moments throughout where one can pause and appreciate the carefully considered details. His moody lounge/office is a standout, complete with built-ins, a fireplace, ceiling detail and a cozy bench-seat bump-out—creating one of many perfect spaces to unwind… or focus. The kitchen and family room blend seamlessly, featuring stacked, inset cabinetry, a beautiful fireplace flanked by custom-built shelving with arch details, and thoughtful accents in both the lighting and tile details.
In the lower level, built-ins with secret doors add a playful touch, while the bourbon room is a space where time seems to disappear, inviting the owners to relax and enjoy their favorite spirits… or just good company… in style. Unique design elements like helmet and skateboard walls, and lovingly trimmed out spaces, truly make this house feel like a home.
